It wont saturate like some pedals, but for me, its just enough for some midrange grit. I would like to try the blues driver, but really the Bad Monkey is a great pedal. The Digitech Bad Monkey is a great alternative to a Tube Screamer. Actually, more than an alternative, I think it can complement a Tube Screamer really well.

It has the basic features of most overdrive pedals, Volume, Tone and Gain. I have these two well-known pedals here : Boss SD-1 and Digitech Bad Monkey. My budget isn't big and I'm not a professional, so one of these two will do fine for me. But they both have very good reputation and because of that it's really hard to decide. It's difficult to try them around here so I'm looking for your advice.

Basically using it as a clean boost (dime the level and zero out the gain). Its alot more transparent and it has alot more level on tap then the TS9 so it can push those preamps a bit harder. The TS9 colors your tone quite a bit vs the bad monkey and what little coloration the BM has it can be taken out with a mod.

So heres my "Not So Ripe Banana" mod As you can see modding a bad monkey can be a pain, because pretty much everything is surface mount. But there is a few things you can do to enhance it.
